US BIO: June 2022
The Victorian Government, through Global Victoria is seeking applications from up to 30 medical technology, pharmaceutical and clinical trials companies to participate in a 10-day physical trade mission, including attending the 2022 BIO International Convention (BIO) in San Diego, California.

Why should you apply?
This year marks 20 years of the Victorian Government leading trade missions to BIO, and will be the first time in three years since an in-person mission and Convention. The US is the biggest export market for Victoria's medtech and pharma industries, and export outcomes from business undertaken during and following our previous trade missions to BIO has been substantial.
Global Victoria will continue to support companies participating in this year's BIO to maximise export outcomes by contributing to an Ausbiotech-led exhibition stand at the Convention, and will arrange access passes for each delegate, as well as facilitate business matching and networking events.
Global Victoria will also deliver a 3-day pre-Convention Biotechnology roadshow to bolster the awareness and connectivity between Victorian delegates and their US counterparts.
Why US BIO?
The US is the biggest export market for Victoria's life science sector.
BIO is the largest global event for biotechnology and brings together a wide spectrum of life science and application innovators, including drug discovery, biomanufacturing, genomics, nanotechnology, and cell therapy. San Diego is home to some of the most renowned biotech companies. Over 16 per cent of the 3100 biotech and pharmaceutical companies in California are located in San Diego, including Pfizer, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Illumina.

Delegates will be expected to pay for all travel expenses, including:
- flights
- trains
- taxis
- accommodation
- living expenses
- any additional BIO Partnering Activities
Terms and Conditions
Applications will be subject to an approval process and participation will be at the discretion of the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Resources (DJPR).
If accepted into the program, you will be required to attend all of the key activities in the US, including the in-person pre-mission briefing session approximately 3 weeks prior to your departure.
