Creating trade opportunities will be central to the 2017 Australian International Aerospace and Defence Exposition, which commenced today.
More than 600 companies and 35,000 trade delegates from Asia, North America and Europe are expected to attend the event which will put an international spotlight on Victoria's world-class expertise in aviation, aerospace and defence.
The three trade days will be used by local companies, as well as international giants such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin to further trade alliances, strengthen partnerships and negotiate new contracts.
In 2015, the event saw over A$1.25 billion in contracts announced, and we look forward to more exciting announcements at 2017's edition.
The defence sector contributes more than A$8 billion to the state's economy and the industry consists of more than 300 companies that employ about 7000 people.
