Overview
The professional and financial services industry is the largest segment in the Victorian economy, contributing A$67 billion of Victoria's total economic output, or just over 19 per cent of gross state product (GSP) in 2015-16.
Employing over 405,000 people, the professional and financial services industry accounts for almost 13 per cent of Victoria's working population. It's a vital industry in its own right, as well as a key enabler of activity across a wide array of areas and firms who operate in banking, funds management, legal and accounting services, management consulting, architecture and urban design.
Our highly educated engineers, financiers, lawyers, researchers, designers and other consultants provide intelligent ideas that are shaping future industries in the world's growing economies such as China, India, the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), South America and Africa.
