The Australia Indonesia Business Council (AIBC) with the support of Global Victoria, invite you to attend an industry event for expanding your trade with Indonesia.
The session will open with an introduction to the AIBC Food & Agriculture group by Chair, Garry Embleton.
Following Garry's introduction, Leigh Obradovic will provide a background briefing to IA-CEPA before an interactive discussion session, facilitated by Professor Edward Buckingham, where all participants can talk to their experiences trading to Indonesia, the good, the bad and the challenging.
Edward will distill the discussions to key focus points for improvement in the Australia and Indonesia trade relationship.
About Garry Embleton
Garry Embleton is Operations Director for Ausfine Foods International Pty. Ltd and President Director of PT Ausfine Foods Indonesia. He has been with Ausfine for 11 years and is in his 32nd year of working in the international trading side of the Australian Dairy Industry. Through his career he has also been involved in exporting meat, dried fruit, juices and other food products. Garry is Chair of AIBC Victoria, and heads up the AIBC Food & Agriculture Group.
About Leigh Obradovic
Leigh Obradovic has had approximately 20 years’ experience in assisting businesses with international trade, regulatory, taxation and government affairs challenges across the Asia-Pacific region. He has worked in a range businesses sectors including transport, FMCG, financial technology, manufacturing and agribusiness sectors. In Indonesia, Leigh has worked with both industry and government on a range of projects including foreign investment, taxation and trade reform. He has advised representatives of the Australian and Indonesian Governments on trade and investment reforms, including the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP) and the ASEAN Economic Community. He was also an adviser to the Australian Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment (The Hon. Steven Ciobo) during the later stages of the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IA CEPA). Leigh is now Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs for Toll Group.
About Professor Edward Buckingham
Edward Buckingham works at Monash Business School where he teaches Strategy, Operations Management, International Business and Business model design to MBA students. Edward first went to Indonesia as a 19 year old undergraduate exchange student and been a fan ever since. After many years in the private sector working in China and France for the Boston Consulting Group, Schlumberger and what is now Clariant, Edward returned to INSEAD, his alma mater, to run their EMBA programmes. For his PhD (London) he researched business practices in Indonesian agribusiness value chains. He appears regularly as an interview guest on the SBS Radio a Bahasa Indonesia service.
The session will include an interactive panel discussion with Q&A and break-out sessions.
