The announcement of AVLD delegates further strengthens Victoria’s ties with Vietnam
Global Victoria returns as the headline sponsor for this year’s program, which will strengthen connections between Victoria and Vietnam and create two-way opportunities for years to come.
The 20 exceptional Delegates for the 2024 Australia Vietnam Leadership Dialogue were announced at events in both Melbourne and Ho Chi Minh City last month, ahead of the group participating in a 5-day residential program in Melbourne in August.
Vietnam is Victoria’s 10th largest two-way merchandise trading partner and 9th largest export market. Between the 2018-19 and 2022-23 financial years, Victorian merchandise exports to Vietnam grew by 66%.
While the majority of Victorian exports to Vietnam are in food and fibre, Vietnam’s growing middle class presents further opportunities in professional services, education, energy transition and healthcare.
This year’s Dialogue will continue to shine a spotlight on Victoria-Vietnam relations, building on the momentum achieved during last year’s celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Australia-Vietnam Diplomatic Relations.
