Global Victoria, in partnership with the Australia-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Austrade are looking to support export-ready Victorian companies and research institutes to explore the innovation, technology and startup ecosystem in Israel.

Applications are sought from Victorian companies and research institutions that work in:

  • medical research / drug development
  • biotechnology
  • medical technology – diagnostics and devices
  • clinical trial service providers
  • digital health technologies.

Why Israel?

Israel’s healthcare technology industry is a global leader in innovations across various medical fields.

The country has one of the strongest and most technologically advanced economies in the world, and one of the most innovative health and life science ecosystems.

  • Medical devices account for over half of Israel's life science industry.
  • Israel holds more than 100 patents per capita and has one of the strongest startup ecosystems in the world.
  • Israel's strong ties with the U.S. market assists Victorian companies to build connections in Israel and to form strong partnerships in the U.S.

BioMed Israel is the leading annual life science conference in Israel. Held in Tel Aviv, the conference is in its 21st year, and brings together leading biotech, pharma and medical device companies, decision makers and academics from around the world.

What's included?

Global Victoria will facilitate a six-day program, including two days of site visits in and around Tel Aviv, Rehovot and Jerusalem, providing greater insights into the startup culture in Israel, and research and commercialisation opportunities.

Delegates will also attend the 3-day BioMed Israel conference.

Trade mission activities include:

  • securing an exhibition space
  • providing a conference pass
  • business partnering facilities
  • multiple networking events.

What's not included?

Global Victoria will not cover costs for:

  • airfares and accommodation
  • visas and insurance
  • on-ground transport such as taxis, Ubers or public transport
  • living expenses, such as meals
