Over 150,000 Chinese and global purchasers are set to attend China’s premier import-themed 6-day trade event.
Applications have now closed for export-ready Victorian food and beverage businesses to join Global Victoria's trade mission to the China International Import Expo (CIIE) – China’s flagship trade event, taking place in Shanghai, 5 – 10 November 2024.
What types of businesses should apply?
Global Victoria encourages export-ready Victorian food and beverage companies to apply that will preferably be:
- travelling in-person
- represented by in-market teams or distribution partners.
Please note places are limited for this trade mission due to space availability.
Why you should attend
CIIE is the world’s first dedicated import trade show, and each year attracts over 150,000 Chinese and global purchasers.
CIIE provides a significant platform for businesses like yours to:
- showcase your products to a vast audience in China
- connect with potential buyers, partners and key leaders
- gain valuable insights into the current Chinese market and understand local policies and development opportunities
- increase your brand's visibility and reinforce Victoria’s presence in our number one agrifood market.
Victoria will be hosting a Victorian Pavilion at CIIE and you will be directly supported by Global Victoria and our in-market specialist trade teams through a tailored business program. This will leverage the dedicated Victorian Pavilion during CIIE, and the Victorian Government’s dedicated multipurpose trade facility, Vic House.

Why China?
China is Victoria’s largest export destination for food and beverage products.
Victorian food and fibre exports to China were valued at $4.7 billion (as of 30 June 2023) an increase of 4% from the previous year. The Victorian Government is continuing its investment in trade-related activities in this important region to support market entry and market growth for the State's food and beverage industries.
What's included?
Global Victoria supports costs incurred during the CIIE program of events, from 5 to 10 November 2024 including:
- a dedicated booth within an approximate 300 square Victorian Pavilion at the CIIE exhibition
- trade show passes for a maximum of two (2) company representatives
- buyer introductions following feedback on your export goals
- participation at multiple networking and other events at both CIIE and Vic House
- support from the Global Victoria and Victorian Government Trade and Investment (VGTI) trade specialists from across its 5 offices in China (Shanghai, Chengdu, Nanjing, Beijing, and Hong Kong) in the delivery of CIIE
- comprehensive pre-departure briefings and market insights before arriving in-market.
What's not included?
It is the participants' responsibility to manage and fund the following:
- Visas
- Airfares
- Accommodation
- Travel insurance
- Public liability insurance
- Meals outside the program events and functions that are not hosted and/or co-supported by the Victorian Government
- Ground transport/s in Shanghai and within China ie taxi, uber, train etc
- Freight – shipment and storing of product samples.
