The largest event in Asia for educational resources and technology-based products and solutions for all levels and segments of the education and skills sector.

Global Victoria is seeking applications from export-ready Victorian educational technology (edtech) companies to apply for its upcoming trade mission to DIDAC India 2024.

DIDAC is the largest exhibition in Asia focused on education technologies and services, including online learning. The exhibition attracts educators, school administrators, distributors and channel partners, and attendees from across India and neighbouring countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bangladesh.

What types of businesses should apply?

Global Victoria seeks applications from export-ready Victorian edtech companies with cutting-edge products and services that can be delivered at scale and competitive prices.

Places are limited to 12 companies.

The opportunity in India

  • India presents promising opportunities for Victorian companies in the edtech sector due to its rapidly growing economy and large population of over 1.4 billion people.
  • The country has one of the youngest populations in the world with a median age of 28 years, and a growing middle class that is increasingly seeking quality education and upskilling opportunities.
  • The Indian Government is also pushing for greater digital adoption in the education sector, as evidenced by initiatives such as the National Education Policy 2020 which aims to transform the sector using technology.
  • India has a large and diverse education sector, with over 1.5 million schools, 50,000 colleges and universities, and a vast network of vocational training institutions, opening a range of opportunities for Victorian edtech companies to provide innovative solutions to address the diverse needs of the education sector in India.
  • In recent years, there has been a surge in demand for online education and upskilling solutions, particularly in the wake of the pandemic. This has created a significant market opportunity for edtech companies in India. According to a report by Google, the online education market in India is expected to reach $10 billion by 2025, up from $1.96 billion in 2021.
  • Over the last three years, a large amount of venture funding directed toward edtech and some rapid experimentation with digital tools have contributed enormously to the maturity of the sector.
  • Developments in Al and virtual, augmented, and mixed reality devices and applications have moved the sector forward significantly. A new generation of Digital Learning Environments (DLE) has emerged creating an appetite to continuously improve the efficiency of teaching and learning systems.
