The New York food and beverage trade mission is focused on exploring eastern seaboard opportunities with international partners, using Summer Fancy Food Show (SFFS) as a central meeting place. SFFS attracts thousands of buyers and distributors from across the USA.
The exploration trade mission will build participant understanding of the market dynamics, trends, opportunities and challenges for Victorian food and beverage products in the USA.
What types of businesses should apply?
Global Victoria encourages applications from export-ready Victorian companies (based or headquartered) from the following industries:
- Specialty foods and beverages.
- Functional foods.
- Non-alcoholic or zero alcohol beverages.
- Health and organic foods.
Opportunities in North America
The North American region is an important trading partner for Victoria. Food and fibre exports to the USA in 2021/22 were worth $1.5 billion. The Victorian Government is increasing investment in trade related activities in this important region to further support the food and beverage sector.
What's included?
The program aims to:
- connect Victorian food and beverage producers with potential international partners throughout the USA with focus on the eastern seaboard
- increase participants understanding of the market dynamics, opportunities and challenges for Victorian food and beverage products in the USA
- engage with key international decision-makers in the USA through attendance at SFFS and associated business matching activities supported by Global Victoria.
Program schedule
25 -27 June – attendance at SFFS including business matching meetings.
- provide access and entry to SFFS.
- support pre-mission briefing and tailored preparation from in-market specialists in the USA.
- cover costs associated with market briefing, business matching and retail visit programs.
- support attendance at any networking events.
Note, this trade mission does not include physical stand space at SFFS and the trade mission will proceed subject to interest from Victorian export-ready businesses.
What's not included?
It is the participants responsibility to manage and fund the following:
- Visas.
- Airfares.
- Accommodation.
- Travel insurance.
- Meals outside the program events and functions that are not hosted and/or co-supported by Global Victoria.
- Ground transport such as taxis, Ubers and public transport.
