Global Victoria is seeking applications from Victorian companies to participate in its Technology Trade Mission to the UK & Europe.

Delivered in partnership with key industry organisations, the mission is built around three of the world's most influential tech events:

SxSW London (2-7 June 2025)
London Tech Week (8-10 June 2025)
Vivatech Paris (11-13 June 2025)

Companies can choose to participate in a combination of these event programs.

South by Southwest (SXSW) London will debut in Shoreditch, East London, as the first European edition of the renowned festival. Building on the success of its Austin, Texas, origins and its expansion to Sydney, SXSW London will bring together creativity, culture, and innovation. With a dynamic program spanning tech, arts, and entertainment, the event is expected to draw over 20,000 attendees.

London Tech Week (LTW) is Europe’s largest festival of live tech events, bringing together over 20,000 global government and corporate leaders, senior investors, and rising tech stars. For Victorian companies, LTW offers unparalleled access to some of the world’s biggest tech players and most innovative start-ups, creating valuable opportunities for collaboration, investment, and market expansion in Europe and beyond.

Viva Technology (VivaTech) is Europe’s largest start-up and tech event, bringing together entrepreneurs, executives, investors, students, and academics to collaborate, network, and showcase innovations. Taking place in Paris at Expo Porte de Versailles, the eighth edition offers Victorian companies a prime opportunity to connect with global industry leaders, explore investment and partnership prospects, and gain insights into the latest tech trends shaping European and international markets.

What types of businesses should apply?

Victorian companies with software and services capabilities across all technology sub-sectors, including Digital Health, Createch, Sustainability in Tech and AI/Big Data/Cybersecurity are invited to apply.

Companies applying need to have been operating for at least three years and ideally employing at least eight FTEs. Companies will also need to demonstrate clear goals for doing business in the UK and Europe.

Why you should apply

This trade mission offers delegates a strategic platform to gain market insights, explore opportunities, expand networks, and connect with potential partners and clients.

Global Victoria has led successful tech trade missions to LTW for eight years and Vivatech for the past two. Companies participating in past LTW and Vivatech trade missions have achieved significant business outcomes.

The 2025 program includes market briefings, attendance at flagship events, targeted networking, roundtables, and facilitated introductions.

Why the UK and Europe?

The UK has been identified as a high target market for technology.  The annual Victorian ICT survey demonstrates the UK is the second largest export destination for technology behind the Unites States of America.  The strength in interest for the UK market by Victorian technology business is likely to grow as a result of the Australia-United Kingdom (UK) Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

Interest in doing business in Europe continues to grow amongst Victorian businesses. Therefore, the Victorian Government has strengthened the State’s presence in the region through the establishment of an office in Paris to provide increased support to Victorian companies and further promote Victoria to investors and partners in Europe.
