Global Victoria, in partnership with its London Victorian Government Trade and Investment offices, the UK Government and Creative Victoria is leading a trade mission to London Tech Week (LTW) – the UK’s Tech flagship event, taking place across London, with over 20,000 participants.

What types of businesses should apply?

Our trade mission program is themed around four major streams:

  1. Educational Technology – higher education
  2. Digital Health – including medtech, software and devices where it relates to health
  3. FinTech – including banking and payments, credit and lending, insurance and wealth management
  4. Createch – including augmented reality, virtual reality, visual effects, programmatic branding, immersive technologies, experience design, animatronics and entertainment apps.

Export-ready Victorian companies from the industries listed above are invited to apply if they ideally have:

  • a technology/service relevant to the four streams identified above
  • clear goals and commitment for doing business in the UK
  • the financial and people resources to build and sustain export growth
  • a demonstrated company / management track record.

Why should you apply?

Global Victoria has led successful physical trade missions to LTW in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2022, and virtual trade missions in 2020 and 2021. The business outcomes from companies that participated in previous LTW activities has been considerable.

The mission will enable delegates to build market insights, explore market opportunities, expand their networks and identify potential partners and clients.

Why the United Kingdom?

The United Kingdom (UK) has been identified as a high target market for ICT/Tech.  The annual Victorian ICT survey demonstrates that the UK is the second largest export destination for ICT/Tech behind the Unites States.

The strength in interest for the UK market by Victorian ICT/Tech business is likely to grow as a result of the recently announced Australia-United Kingdom (UK) Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

London Tech Week is Europe’s largest festival of live events taking place across London, with over 20,000 participants.

What's included?

Category 1

The trade mission will focus on targeted business matching meetings, roundtables and networking events for 15 Victorian technology companies new to the UK market, and haven't previously been involved in the trade mission's business matching program.

Category 2

There will also be another 15 Victorian technology companies with a presence or representative in-market participating in the broader program.

Global Victoria will facilitate and cover the costs of all planned activities associated with the trade mission including room hire, business matching and marketing collateral.

The Victorian Government is planning an optional component for Victorian companies in the delegation to travel to Paris (Thursday 15 to Friday 16 June) for a short business program to coincide with VivaTech.

What's not included?

It is the participants responsibility to manage and fund the following:

  • airfares
  • visas
  • accommodation
  • costs incurred outside of trade mission activities, such as meals and external activities
  • transport costs, such as taxis, Ubers and public transport.
