The Australia China Business Council (ACBC) China Capability Program is a national industry initiative designed to strengthen Australian organisations' ability to engage effectively with China.
Developed from ACBC's national benchmark study and informed by industry, academic and government input, the program builds capability across six areas: knowledge, networks, cultural adaptability, leadership and strategy, localisation, and in-market operations.
Participants will build their understanding of China's political, economic, cultural and commercial environment, and develop the skills to interpret market conditions, assess risks and opportunities, and make more informed decisions about China engagement
What you'll gain
The program is designed to help participants develop:
- Stronger networks through relationships that support greater understanding and connection
- Sharper decision-making through deeper knowledge of the Chinese market
- Risk awareness across market, regulatory and geopolitical considerations
- Cultural agility to support respectful communication and build trust
Who is it for?
The China Capability Program has been developed for participants across industries, organisational levels and backgrounds. The first phase involves peak industry bodies, which will help shape and refine the program for different sectors.
The subsequent industry rollout will enable peak bodies to bring the program to their member organisations, tailored to industry needs.
