Improved flight connectivity between Melbourne and the USA
While the virtual business environment has thrived and shifted the way we do business, the US market is one that continues to value face-to-face connection. For many Victorian companies, visiting the US to build relationships and demonstrate their commitment to the market can be an important factor helping to secure business deals.
The latter part of 2022 has seen increased capacity for Victorians to fly direct to the USA. Melbourne Airport now offers direct connectivity to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas Fort Worth and Honolulu.
- Qantas launched their new direct route between Melbourne and Dallas Fort Worth in December 2022. They also operate direct flights between Melbourne and Los Angeles.
- United Airlines re-started their direct service to Melbourne from San Francisco in June 2022 and from Los Angeles in October 2022. By December, both routes expanded to daily flights.
- With a greater focus on tourism, Jetstar offers direct flights to Honolulu.
