Pure Harvest
Pure Harvest was established in 1979 in Prahran, Victoria.
Their first products were bulk whole grains and beans which we distributed to health food stores in Victoria. The company grew quickly and within a few years became one of the largest suppliers of seeds and grains to the bakery trade in Victoria.
In 1982, Pure Harvest were one of the first companies in Australia to import and distribute soy milk and rice cakes in the country, and were largely responsible for creating markets for these products. They were the first company to distribute bio-dynamic rice in the country and played a key role in financing the first organic rice crop grown in Australia. In 1987, they were the first Australian company to sell locally made whole bean soy milk, marketed under the ‘Aussie Soy’ brand, which has remained one of the leading Australian whole bean soy milks to this day. In the early 1990's, Pure Harvest introduced rice milk to the Australian market, which they followed up by making oat milk available for the first time.
“We are very grateful that they were able to partner with Global Victoria and develop some other exporting opportunities that we haven’t been able to do in the past, given the cost constraints.”
John Stergiou, Head of International Business at Pure Harvest.
And more recently, they have continued to strengthen their reputation as an innovator in the Australian market by introducing organic almond milk to consumers.
Now located in Drouin, in the Gippsland area of regional Victoria, Pure Harvest are one of Australia’s largest manufacturers and distributors of natural and organic food with a national distribution network and supplier of major supermarkets and health food retailers across the country.
The company offer a range of products from non diary milk, organic juices, natural sweeteners, organic cold pressed oils, rice cakes, nut butters, organic soy sauces, to organic grains, beans, flours, nuts and dried fruit.
Pure Harvest's products are chemical free, unadulterated and made from the highest quality natural and organic ingredients. Their belief is that the food we eat should stay as close to its natural state as possible to create happier, healthier people with strong bodies and clear minds.
Accessing new markets with the Global Gateway grant
Pure Harvest used their Global Gateway grant to broaden their knowledge about accessing new markets, and develop other exporting opportunities which have been challenging to leverage in the past due to COVID-19.
