Melbourne: Australia’s Life Sciences Powerhouse

Centred around two co-located research precincts, Parkville and Clayton, the Victorian life sciences ecosystem brings together world-leading research organisations, top-tier universities, and hospitals to develop revolutionary treatments and new therapies.

In June 2023, Global Victoria led a delegation of over 60 companies to BIO International Convention in Boston helping delegates connect with US and International companies to grow partnerships and business opportunities. Post-convention, Global Victoria led a delegation to visit the Centre for Commercialization of Regenerative Medicine (CCRM) in Toronto.

Global Victoria HealthTech Talks Podcast Series

Coinciding with the BIO trade mission, we launched our podcast series, Global Victoria HealthTech Talks – demonstrating the breadth of Victoria’s expertise in the fields of neuroscience, oncology, genomics,cardiovascular health, regenerative medicine, infectious diseases and clinical trials.

New York Food and Beverage Trade Mission

Specialty foods and beverages are in high demand, and more than 30,000 industry professionals attended the 2023 Summer Fancy Food Show in New York.

In an Australian first for an adaptive fashion brand, The Shapes United has struck a deal to sell 15 of its highest-selling products through US retail giant Walmart.

As highlighted in Ragtrader, The Shapes United officially launched an initial range of 170 SKUs via Walmart online on National Disability Independence Day in the US in July.

In honour of the FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™match between Canada and Australia, we partnered with the Canadian Australian Chamber of Commerce and the Consulate General of Canada to host a lunch discussing the changing dynamics of leadership, fighting gender norms and how female leadership benefits everyone. Through our Global Victoria Women – GVw –initiative, we're committed to helping Victorian women connect, grow and establish global networks so they can succeed in doing business in international markets.
